Some of the Let’s Play’s over on the Egosoft forums were what got me into the game in the first place and kept me interested enough to keep beating my head against the UI’s brick wall until I broke through. The game itself is pretty (in)famous for being dense as hell and a learning curve that looks more like a giant cliff, so if you aren’t confused as hell for the first five hours or so then you had to have been on the dev team or something. X3 let’s plays tend to be a breed of their own, being equal parts role play and an honest run down of how the writer is doing in that play through. So, to get my X3 fix and work the flab off of my writing skill I’ve had an IDEA. To add to my problems, I’m a bit of a games junkie, and I’m pretty psyched about having a rig I can play X3TC on without it crapping out or being laggy as all hell. It was never that robust to begin with but now I’m finding it nearly impossible to put my ideas on paper. I’m rocking a shiny new Acer now, but I’ve found that my muse and creativity has atrophied. So I went for the better part of seven months without a laptop, which makes writing anything pretty difficult when you can’t even read your own handwriting.
